Fernwood Montessori School (Milwaukee Public Schools) seeks an experienced and dedicated Elementary teacher to start this FALL, 2019. (Upper or Lower Elementary) Well qualified candidates will have experience teaching in a Montessori environment and a passion for holistic education. Montessori certification and Wisconsin state license required. District assistance provided to obtain license in your first year. Fernwood, one of eight public Montessori schools in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is a well-established, highly desired public school currently enrolling 3 to 14 yr. olds.  We are seeking a teacher who is inspired to become part of our Montessori community.
Our program is renowned for its longevity and consistent application of Montessori. We maintain a policy of accepting students who have had consistent, previous Montessori education. The staff and administration are highly collaborative and supportive. 
 We have a beautiful, recently-expanded school with 23 fully-equipped Montessori environments. Located in the Bay View neighborhood, we are just blocks from Lake Michigan and numerous award winning parks and nature areas. Our outdoor environment includes a greenhouse, stone labyrinth, and innovative play and performance spaces, and is generously supported by the Fernwood families. Our staff includes a full complement of assistants, full time Art, Music and Gym as well as Speech and Special Education support specialists.
